Good Life Bikes

The Good Life Community Bicycle Shop is a nonprofit education and resource centre founded on the values of mutual aid, equality, inclusion, anti-oppression, and connection to and care for the environment. They use bicycles as a vehicle for empowering individuals and communities in becoming increasingly resourceful, resilient, responsible, and caring.

When I lived in Calgary, I volunteered wrenching a bit. I soon learned they needed help updating their outdated WordPress website. We added some functionality to the old site with a new bike gallery to show off the best of the newest builds for sale. However, understanding that the site needed to work well on mobile, we soon thereafter embarked on a rebuild. Using JointsWP (which utilizes the awesome Foundation framework) as a jumping off point, I helped create a custom site with a WordPress CMS.

We did a content audit and reorganized to create a simpler, smoother user experience. A lot of generous souls cycle through the organization so we developed a brief User Guide, enabling people to easily add new content and get out the good word.
